About
Sara Kocek is the author of Promise Me Something (Albert Whitman) which received a starred Kirkus review and was an ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults nominee. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University, where she taught fiction and poetry to undergraduates. Prior to pursuing her MFA, Sara graduated with a B.A. in English from Yale University and completed two editorial internships at Random House and Penguin in the years before the companies merged. She now lives in Austin, Texas, where she worked as the Program Director for the Writers’ League of Texas before launching Yellow Bird Editors, a collective of independent editors and writing coaches. She has known her calling since high school, when she unearthed her childhood diary and discovered that nearly every entry was fictional.
Sara is represented by Marcy Posner at Folio Literary Management.
