Poems of the Earth Long Ago
By Sara Kocek, age 5
1.
Sing the Brave and the world
God believes in it and the people too.
And soon I do too.
And I will and I wont forget
When the world has gone.
Soon I’ll find you here or there.
God believes in the world.
Long ago I was born.
And my brothers and sisters too.
And you might see me come there towards you
As the time goes past
And I get old as you.
Over treetops there will be a scene over everything.
So stay right here and I’ll come with you to the bright of summer.
2.
The blossoms ring and the world is coming to an end.
James and Sarah and Jumbo and Jamaccoby are running toward me.
The wind is blowing toward the earth.
All the houses and songs are here at last.
3.
The colors in the greening spring
Mostly green, mostly red.
I like those colors, and I want them there.
Oh the prettiness of life and dreams.
If life is a dream, I will dream it as great.
4.
Someday over rainbow tops I’ll sing your joys to you
Over mountains over trains, you will hear me singing this song to you.
Oh believe me, I say my life as true.
